Do you have what it takes to become the next World Chocolate Master? Then download the application form below, fill it out and send it back to us at least three months before the date of your local national qualifying rounds to enter. But before you do, we advise you to read the information on this page carefully. Along with your application form, please provide a full portfolio showing your skills, pictures of your confectionery, showpieces, resume, etc. These will help us assess your professional knowledge, skill and experience with chocolate.

The World Chocolate Masters Committee has the final say

Your application will be evaluated by the World Chocolate Masters Committee for participation in the 2017/18 qualifying rounds for the World Chocolate Masters.

Confirmation

Maximum 2 weeks after you apply, you’ll receive confirmation whether your application is accepted or not. Your local Cacao Barry contact will get in touch with you.

The Rules

By entering the competition, each contestant declares his or her full acceptance of the regulations for participation in the national qualifying rounds for this edition of the Cacao Barry World Chocolate Masters as defined below.

Cancellation of participation

A contestant can withdraw his or her application for participation in the national qualifying rounds for the Cacao Barry World Chocolate Masters by giving notice in writing three months prior to the event date. In case of withdrawal after this date, the World Chocolate Masters Committee may charge the withdrawing applicant for any costs that may have been incurred in connection with his or her application.

Conditions for participating
In the national qualifying rounds

The World Chocolate Masters Committee will decide which countries may organise national qualifying rounds. Application for participation in the national qualifying rounds is open to anyone who meets the criteria set out below. The World Chocolate Masters Committee in each country will decide who can participate in the competition, based on applicants’ professional experience and the portfolio they have sent in. If the number of applicants per country is insufficient, the World Chocolate Masters Committee of the country in question has the right to cancel the qualifying rounds.

Occupation

This competition is open to anyone who works in the following sectors: pastry-making and confectionery, restaurants and catering, and professional culinary training, with the exception of members of the International Ambassadors Club of Cacao Barry, Callebaut, Carma or Chocovic and Barry Callebaut employees.

Nationality

Applicants must hold the nationality of the country where they apply or have resided and worked there officially for a minimum of two years. When requested, they should provide the official documents of residence.

Age

Contestants must have the legal age of at least 21 years at the start of the national qualifying rounds. In case of misinformation, including an application with incorrect or incomplete information, the World Chocolate Masters Committee has the right to exclude the contestant from the qualifying rounds and/or the Cacao Barry World Chocolate Masters competition.
